No big deal.?ÿ From June 23, 1980 to September 9, 1980 every day was 90.0 F or higher, without exception.?ÿ Half of those days were over 99.9 F?ÿ with 27 of 28 days in a row exceeding that number from late June through July.?ÿ The highest was 111.8.?ÿ Several were in excess of 106.0.
We used to work out of a van.?ÿ Someone had scrawled in black marker on the inside of the back door "Gawd it's hot - Aug 1 1980".?ÿ It was 109 that day and we were "supposed" to be staking paving at a residential development...I think we spent most of the afternoon playing mumbly peg and drinking water in what little shade we could find.
I drove that van another 5 years or so.?ÿ Every Aug. first I remember that miserable day.?ÿ
We maxed out at 108.0 that day.

We were lucky.?ÿ We had the company's only K&E Rangefinder mounted on the top of T2.?ÿ Laying out subdivisions was a lot more fun with EDM than with a chain.

When I arrived in Oklahoma in early September, 2011, I was told that every single day since June had been over 100?øF. And that carried on for another couple of weeks.?ÿ?ÿ
Grabbed a random date, 8/1/2011, and it says 108.0 F.?ÿ On 9/1/2011 things had cooled down all the way to 104.4 F.
