Thanks Noodles. Such a day. Almost a 100 Birthday wishes so far on FB and about the same amount of PM's from friends from all over the world. God bless you Mark Deal for starting this all rolling and for Wendell and you to take over the reins when you saw a need in our little community.
As you get older you often wonder if you have become your father. I so hope that is true and that I have lived up to what he wanted me to become and just have been half the man that he was in my life.
Adopted at birth in Claremore Oklahoma. Biology is often over rated. They were my mom and dad and I am so glad that mom is still with me.
I have been so blessed in this life but it's not always been smooth or without problems. I lost a wife once of over 20 years (divorce not death) and have only now become open again after over 12 years.
I look back, but hope for many more years, and only remember the good times. The now, about 12 men that are registered land surveyors that worked under me that I mentored, countless students that went on to finish degrees and maps that have helped my community of Lawton.
I took a two year sabbatical to see the USA and to again find my center. Mother nature, the skies, the trees, flowers and sleeping by the roadside with only cans of monkey pricks at times. Got off the grid and recharged my batteries with life and energy and not worldly goods. When I see a homeless person then I often wonder if they are there because of the economy or because they are also taking it off the grid and seeking some inward peace.
But I found that I had knowledge and experience that was going to waste. Things that I had built a lifetime learning. So I made the choice to come back and enter the work force again, but not in management and just as the 'brush ape'. I have lived the famous POB cartoon.
But on Thursday then I will go see my special lady. One that has turned this heart of stone into a soft and pumping organ again. She is such a classy but funny lady. In this she was saying "Does your bike make my but look big". Of course I gave the perfect answer "They have really clean bathrooms in the museum".
And the comments from friends that started out as Hey Trimble Man. Those just really brought back some good years and good conversations.
Yeah it was a Hiperrific day, both in the field and now at home.
Thanks for the ride all.
Have a great one Deral and welcome to the Bluegrass State (actually it's a Commonwealth, but who's counting)...we share a birthday a week apart...great minds I reckon....;-)
Happy Birthday Deral!
It has been a privilege to get to know you through the various Boards, and I hope that we get the chance to meet in person one day.
I wish you all the best my friend!
Jimmy
Happy B-day, big guy. I'll never forget when you called my house, I wasn't home and you told SWMBO that to tell JD that Trimble Man called. She saw my Trimble level case on the floor and told me some guy from Trimble called , probably a salesman! Took me a few, but 2 and 2 go together! Happy, happy Birthday and many many more.
(And tell her the bike does not make her but look big!)
-JD-
Happy Cake Day, Deral! Enjoy!
Rick
So, is 70 better than 69?
Happy Birthday Deral,
congrats and all the best now that you've chosen a new direction!
Christof from Belgium.
Make that 101 birthday wishes. You are a gentleman and a scholar and I'm glad there are at least two of us.
Of all the things that came about due to my participation in RPLS/POB (and of course this Board), one of the best was finding out there was someone like Deral out there.
Happy Birthday "Trimble Man", and many many more!

Happy birthday TM. You seem like one of the most well-rounded guys on this board. You deserve a wonderful lady. I only wish Wwendell had kept P&R on. Not for the political posts, but for your hijacks.
Tom
Ditto, what everyone else has said...
And
It's been a pleasure reading your posts over the years, I've learned a lot from you. And thank you, especially, for the Pipe v. Stone post, it was a classic and will be remembered forever.
Happy birthday "Trimble Man" and may you have many more.....
Cheers,
Dugger
Happy belated one to ya Brother D!!!
Lord knows we have certainly had more than few drinks over the phone together.
Perhaps someday we can actually get one of our many plans to come through and get that phone part out of the way.
Happy B-Day ya ole fart! 😉
Have a great week!
