Just finished ham and beans (left over ham from Easter) and corn bread with honey butter...
I was in Albuquerque last week and ordered grits as a side to my french toast. Those folks just don't know how to prepare grits. I thought what they served me was actually sand. Didn't get past the first bite.

Generally, with some noted exceptions, you can't get decent grits west of Austin, north of Nashville and south of Tallahassee or maybe Ocala. At almost any chain restaurant there will be no salt or other seasoning.
Now you've done it, I'm going to have grits with my rotisserie chicken for supper.

Redears (some locals call them chinquapin a) are bustin' here in our local river. I guess after the flood last week, they are busy busy busy.

I'f you're ever in Phoenix, AZ (my sympathies) drop by Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe. I would suggest the Fried Chicken and anything else on the menu. You may run into Charles Barkley there - its one of the reasons his suits are so large! Soul food par excellance!!
