I don't listen to much music other than classical these days...except for gypsy jazz (and occasionally blasting late 60's/early 70's era Stones with the volume turned up to 11:cool: )
Meanwhile I'm listening to pop / hot 100 / alternative...Hmmm, I wonder if it's because my mom was listening to the same sorts of radio stations when I was a kid (she still does although she leans towards hard rock more than me). Meanwhile, dad was listening to big band so I have a soft spot (and a bunch of CDs) for them too. If you like bebop/scat, Lambert, Hendricks and Ross are really cool.
I'm quite jazzed to be going to a show on the U2 30th anniversary of Joshua Tree this May and looking forward to Linkin Park's new album due out shortly.
A number of years ago, I found an internet station (hober.com if I"m allowed a plug,,, I'm not affiliated) that I listen to as time allows. Mostly folk with a mix of other stuff like Hawaiian slack key, older (Homer & Jethro plus more), newer, funny, serious, etc, etc. And from around the world.
I keep wondering where this kind of variety was when I was growing up pre-internet. I occasionally listen to "regular" rock when I have to, but much prefer a wider variety than any commercial station can or will provide.
My name is Williwaw and I am a Radio Paradise addict.
