I was updating my database from last year, and I noticed I didn't have an address entered for a mortgage guy that I did a couple of jobs for last year.
So, I google him, and get his mug shot. Charged with 3 felonies for domestic violence ...
nope, but i did "google" my wife (there's a joke in there somewhere). no big deal. just came up w/ a book that she had authored that didn't sell.
"googled" my daughter. fairly embarrassing for the most part. haven't "googled" my son yet.
have you ever "googled" youself (there's a joke in there somewhere)? it didn't surprise me any, but it may some on this forum.
checking google, my space, facebook, etc. are great ways for folks to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly of you, especially if you're applying for a job, credit, etc.
be careful my friends.
Ever google your clients? oh yea....
Clients...friends...relatives.... even some fellow posters....
Once I googled my name... found a football player... a felon.... a recent obituary...
Your local magistrate files may be online along with the state level.
I know that PA's records are online. http://ujsportal.pacourts.us/
You never know what you'll find.
Yup, I googled one. Niiiiiiiice.

:good:
Not googled, but one time ran a background check on a job applicant and the printer actually ran out of paper before it could fully print out his rap sheet. Ran a background check once on a nice enough client that we had been having too much trouble trying to collect a past due bill on. We found out that she had served a couple of sentences in the Louisiana State Pen and had lost one of her eyes during one of her stays. We wrote the bill off because we figured that she had had enough trouble in her life that we didn't care to cause her anymore and also we didn't want to take the chance on becoming the reason for her next prison visit.
Did a job years ago for a fellow that I knew had spent some time in prison. Turns out he needed this tract cut off of a much larger parcel so he could deed it to his bondsman. As we were about to finish the field work, he pointed to another field and asked what it might cost to cut it off at some later date. He said he might need it to pay his bondsman at some point in the future.
