We are munching our 3rd "Bumper killed" deer. Usually have to waste out a quarter, due to road rash, but, that also sometimes happens when shot with deer rifle. (Wasted quarter).
I like a crock pot neck.
Nearly fill the crock pot with deer meat, and potatoes, and an apple, olive oil, salt, pepper, and fresh cow milk, and cook for around 10 hrs.
We don't have any better sense, than to eat this stuff!
God is good. The local cops now have me on their list of folks who like to "Prevent Waste," when a deer is hit!
Up too late sometimes, but the eating is good. 🙂

Was wondering, Nate...are you required to have a hunting license in order to posess an even road killed deer?
Nate
I'd be tempted to also throw a handful of shelled pecans and some sage in the crockpot.
I'm getting hungry..
There are a few like that around here as well. The thing with the deer is it needs to be cold or you have to change your processing method.
Enjoy amigo!
It makes my wife's day when she goes to the fridge and I have taken out all the shelves and have a quartered deer hanging.
I just got back from a walk through the National Battlefield Park here with my dog. We walked up on a nice 6 pointer that just stood and watched us, even after my dog started barking at him. If I can figure out how to get the pictures out of my phone I'll post them.

No license needed, if you whack it with your bumper. Or else EVERYBODY would have to get deer license, to drive!
And, possession?
Who cares? The cop shot one or two of them. (one for sure), and last night's for sure, and asked the owner of the "bumper" (a nice silverado!) if he knew anybody who would want the deer, and he said "Sure, I know somebody that would want it". Many of these road kills go to waste. The State Trooper called in last nights, for Game and Fish records.
Wasting a good deer is a sin!

Nothing better than some good old road kill roast. I like mine with lettuce and tomato........
I will admit that I have to draw the line at slab of lab and filet o' kitten though.
I once had some tasty road kill in the form of a turkey who was unfortunate enough to have a windward side encounter with the upper corner of my truck at the windshield. Luckily he didn't break the glass, but he did break his neck.
I will say that it scared the heck out of me with that 50 mph big thud.
Nate
Payden, I have not tried that yet, But it is easy to tempt the willing!

Bumper Crop ? I Thought You Were Talking About Children ?
Well, I wish it was children... but the deer is good, very good eating!
The children EAT the deer. That's how it works down here.
