I know that some, here, sport long beards. I decided to give it a go and SWMBO doesn't like it:

That poster, RADAR; sure is a swell guy.

CPAP doesn't seal very well with a beard, so I only do "No shave November" for hunting season. and SWMBO asks me nearly every day when I'm going to shave.
I ask if she'll snuggle me more if I shave- and she says- not necessarily- So I reply " I guess I'll need to keep this beard then" -
Then she gets all technical and stuff and tells me It's not a beard, it's just scruff...

When I first grew a beard I let it go long because I figured that not having to do any shaving or trimming was part of the appeal. But after awhile it got kind of annoying and I started looking a little scary, so I trimmed it back and started shaving my neck. For 30 or so years now I've kept my beard short, which means shaving my neck every day and trimming my beard once a week.

My wife like's me to keep shaved and hair cut nicely. I usually get around to shaving 4 or 5 times a year. October thru February are no shave months for me.

Stopped shaving twenty years ago, just couldn't keep up. By the end of the day I'd have a short sandpaper like beard. Grows like kudzu. Buzz it with the beard trimmer couple times a week. Makes a nice sun and wind barrier, like a baby's bottom under there. SWMBO thinks it's Don Johnson sexy, but insists I keep the top of my head the same length which has everyone assuming I'm military. Call it my 'high speed, low drag' look.

A beard and being on the local fire department doesn't work because of the air packs. I only shaved my moustache for a few months in 1986 because of a job interview. Met my wife during that time. Grew it back and had it ever since. And no, she does not like it.

Clean shaven; but my wife recently suggested that I go with something like this

I told her I can try adding the facial hair, but it wont change the underlying face 😉

Have had one for the last few years. It's been trimmed a few times. It's longer now then in the pic. The wife wont let me cut it off.

No, she does not like facial hair

I had a beard for over 25yrs and now I keep it very short and hardly ever shave, except for formal occasions being the exception.

I keep mine short & trimmed. Shaved it off a few years ago just for a change of pace. Wife looked at me with an expression of... I'm not sure if it was fear, disgust, or just a lack of recognition. I didn't get a chance to ask her opinion before she told me to grow it back. Apparently, I'm not as cute & cuddly with a beardless face as that swell Radar Casement guy.

I wore a beard during the years my children were young. At the age of four my youngest son had never seen me without one. For some reason lost to antiquity I shaved...When that youngest boy saw me he cried and ran off to his momma. He wouldn't even come close to me for a week.

I grew it back.

I left myself a little moustache last time I shaved off my beard.

I looked like an old-time mexican bandito.

It lasted all of about a minute.

These days I'm clean shaven - I'm trying, not so successfully, to still look young you see...

I keep mine trimmed pretty tight, and shave my neck and cheeks about once a week (used to be daily). Wife has never liked it but I do and more importantly I detest shaving.

Why bother shaving? Prevents sunburn in the summer and makes a great windbreak and insulator in the winter.

Mine partially compensates for the shortage on top of the head.

For those who want to support the clean shaven side of the issue, here is a saying that assaults those who do not shave: Why would anyone want to cultivate on their face what grows wild on my @$$?

Had one for many years almost identical to Azweig above. Hair to match.
Wife did not like it, brother called me Fidel, kids didn't know dad when one day it came off.
Never been back.
It certainly kept the sun at bay.

Ahem. You are barely getting started, young man. Here is a reasonable goal for you.

If your wife doesn't like your beard or otherwise disapproves then I suggest you get rid of her cause you just don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
