Hey guys! I moderate a forum for RADU and he has not been around in over 3 months! ?????ÿ
He has not even seen my private messages, emails, etc...
I don't know how to get a hold of him in Australia. Anyone have any ideas on how to find him? Thanks! ?????ÿ

As he is an Aussie there is the real possibility that he is holed up with several fine looking Sheila's and has decided to make the most of it.

.

It could happen.

He could be working remote (or in the bush as he says)? Has he not been on the Baby Boomers Aussie site on FB? Hadn't realized it had been that long since he posted anywhere....

So, I had someone in Australia get a hold of RADU. Here's what he said:

"Angel, I have just been talking to Richard on the cell phone. He has been out of action for a short time due to a fall, but he is fine now. Just very busy catching up on things. He will contact you tomorrow."

So far, I haven't heard anything from the RADU himself, but it is a big sigh of relief to know that he is OK. PHEW!!!! ?????ÿ

Well...

Wendell and I have not said anything on here yet because we didn't want you guys to worry. But in January I found out I have a progressive kidney disease (PKD). It runs in my family and it has killed all of my mom's relatives, my grandma, my aunt, my uncle, my cousins, etc...

My mom had it for half of her lifetime until she passed away.

I went to the doctors because I wasn't feeling good for awhile with various symptoms and thought it was something else. The doctors kept thinking appendix or a liver problem. I figured I was also still recovering from my parents deaths and the aftermath of all of that.?ÿ

They did a CT scan in January and that's how we found out. I have cysts on my right kidney and spleen. We were both pretty devastated. I thought the disease had bypassed me because I have been checked for years and there was nothing there. But now when I look back I did have a lot of the subtle symptoms that are overlooked in most cases. (Kidney stones, back pain, tiredness, UTIs, etc...)

Right now I'm between stage 1 and 2. So it's not too bad. I went on some kidney medications and had to cut out a few things from my diet and lifestlyle, but I needed to anyhow.

I'm going to probably need a transplant in 3 to 5 years. Maybe 7 if I can keep my kidneys as healthy as possible.?ÿ

It looks like Wendell will be my kidney donor. So Wendell and I decided to get our body & soul's in the best shape that we could to prepare for this. So we went and joined the gym and hired a personal trainer to show us how to get the weight off of our bodies and to get stronger overall. The better shape that we are in when kidney transplant time comes means the easier that recovery is post kidney transplant.?ÿ

So far Wendell has lost almost 30 lbs and I've lost 13. We both feel so good!! ????

I go to my kidney doctor every 6 months for a progression check up. (Blood labs, urine stuff, etc...)

My next appointment is at the end of July. My doctor will be shocked because he told me I needed to lose weight and change my diet and I actually listened to what he said and applied it to my life! ???Ÿ

So we will see what the future holds but that's what's going on for now.?ÿ ????

My thoughts will be with you. I've got someone in the family with liver problems so...

(I thought I noticed that Wendell had gotten quiet recently--I thought maybe something was wrong with him!)

Something * IS * wrong with me but I also got quiet. 😉

Yeah, it's definitely rough news. But it's also a wake up call in so many ways...
