I have saved but removed the recent threads regarding the future of this website. I didn't necessarily want it to be a permanent part of the site, but more as a way to get input from all of you here. And if I didn't say it enough in those threads, THANK YOU! I've received a TON of great suggestions, ideas, and feedback, which is exactly what I was looking for. I have a better idea of how to proceed and what I'd like to do with the data you've provided. Meanwhile, some donations came in (THANK YOU) that will cover our hard costs for the next couple of months. This will give me time to hammer out some details going forward.

FWIW: I do understand that the donation system here isn't that great. It actually wasn't much of a consideration when choosing a new forum software. Obviously, it probably should have been.

Wendell and Angel, I want to let you both know that you are appreciated by a lot of people!!! We would not know what to do with ourselves without you. I think most, if not all surveyors, can say, we are a bit eccentric. We would not be able to do what we do, it were not a little different, I mean who in their right mind would do the things we do, stand in the middle of a busy road, go down into confined spaces and all that. We all know you need to take care of yourselves, and we expect you to just that. Thank you, I have been working in the surveying business for almost 40 years, licensed since 1986 and I always come to this place to find solace. Thank you from Boise Idaho!!

Awesome Wendell! I am happy to be the first donor. This is a great way to support someone that does something that you value. I urge everyone that can, to pledge what they can. It is super easy and painless to give Wendell the ongoing support that he deserves.

Thanks for the suggestion, Edward. I really like Patreon, it's a nice system that makes it easy for all of us. It has pretty much everything that our great users asked for in regards to monetary support. I spent hours writing up the lengthy description, adding up costs, etc. and Patreon even provides the thermometer in the form of a goal so we can gauge progress automatically.

Yeah, I'm working on that. 🙂 But I also know that this place is pretty slow on Friday nights and Saturdays. It picks up a little bit on Sunday and then back to normal on Monday morning.

For the Luddites in the crowd, how about adding the snail mail info and correct words to put on a check.

Hi Wendell, after tapping confirm and pledge the checkout screen displays an error. I was using a mobile device.

I'm wondering if your timing coincides with the hosting issues Patreon was having earlier today. It was off and on for a couple of hours.
