I have had to delete several threads recently -- some who got through the spam filter and some that didn't -- and all of them were because they were trying to hitch a free ride to get free traffic from RPLS Today. If you are trying to sell a product or service to surveyors and you want to get some free advertising, this is not the place to do it. I understand that you'd like to get some traffic to your website to sell your stuff -- wouldn't we all?
Everyone that signs up here agrees to the Community Rules and the Terms of Service. They are clearly provided during the registration process. The #3 rule in the Community Rules specifically states that no free advertising is allowed. Your post(s) will be removed upon discovery and you run the risk of being banned forever. I've tried to be lenient over the years, but it doesn't work. If you don't want to play by the rules, play somewhere else. I've instituted a zero-tolerance policy with spammers and I put those who attempt to blatantly get free advertising into the spam category.
Also consider those who DO play by the Rules and DO pay for advertising -- is it fair to them that they paid their fair share and you get to slide in under the radar? No, it is not. Hence my zero-tolerance policy. The entire reason this website is available to everyone is because of paid advertisers, so we greatly appreciate them. So please respect our rules and respect those who follow them.
You can purchase advertising here at RPLS Today by visiting our Advertise page here: https://surveyorconnect.com/advertise/
Perhaps not clear in your posting is that one can always purchase advertising on RPLStoday for their product or service for a very reasonable fee.?ÿ
Good point, thank you! I've added an extra blip about that. 🙂
Wendell,
This is not exactly the same issue, but I recently have been receiving unsolicited emails from a guy selling survey truck boxes. He would not tell me form where he obtained my digits.?ÿ
I have been polite in asking him to stop after the third message. We'll see what happens.
Any others out there getting these emails?
JA, PLS SoCal

I get "survey related" email junk occasionally from the email account I use for my RPLS traffic.?ÿ None has for survey truck boxes and none of it is repetitious.?ÿ Usually it's a "one time" thing.?ÿ I just delete it without opening.?ÿ Like the hull of a boat with barnacles, you have to clean your inbox regularly.
Unless you publicly post your email address, phone number, etc. here in the forum, nobody else has access to same. I've had some people post stuff here and then include their email address in the post and then ask why I let people have their email address -- nobody sees your private account information, not even those with memberships. But if you post it in the public forum, yeah, people will see it. I'm not saying you've done that, just pointing that out.
Otherwise, they're probably getting your information from a list somewhere. RPLS Today does not, will not, never has, and never will sell or give away your information.
