Was in a Register of Deeds office last Thursday.?ÿ They had posted a notice several places that they would be closed on February 17 for Presidents Day.?ÿ In the middle of the poster was a picture of Mount Rushmore.?ÿ That provided the opportunity to alert them to the fact that in the survey world that scene is described as "Three surveyors and some other guy."?ÿ They had heard somewhere about Washington but not Jefferson or Lincoln.

The offered to toss me out of the office, though, when I pointed out that all of their notices gave the date as Feruary 17.

In the survey world, who is "The"?

The oldest Title Company does not take a day off for President's day.

These are the only cronies that I know who still keep everyone's money for three days after closing before mailing out checks.

They really upset one of my client's as they had planned it their closing and nobody was very pleased as none of the money was able to be transferred so the sellers pulled the plug and it is now set for next monday.

At least the non-surveyor is carrying the sledge and shovel.
