The meat counter guy asked me yesterday if I was "ready" for the Super Bowl. Oh is that this weekend? Who are you rooting for? Heck if I know. I guess I'm the only person in the USA who doesn't give a flip about the Super Bowl but it's not "social" to say so I guess. Meanwhile the thing for a lot of people seems to be the "commercials" which is silly to me.

Don’t feel bad Dave, I thought the “Superbowl” was LAST weekend, coinciding with the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona! All the supermarkets, at least as of today, threw out all the balloons and other “Superbowl” hype in exchange for Valentines Day hype. Only in America!

Have a great week.

I'm with ya, Dave. I don't really give a flip about the Super Bowl either. But I've always participated in the office pools anyway, just for the fun of it. 🙂

I don't much care about sports in general. Until a couple of years ago, we had a family NFL pool where everybody chipped in $1 a week and whoever guessed the most winners got the kitty. When I was in that, I'd watch every game, check the scores all day long. When that was over, I totally lost interest. Now, with so much at stake in the Beer Leg pool, I'm excited about today's game. Woo-hoo!!

Also, the quarterback for the Packers went to Chico State and so did my wife so that's a good enough reason to root for them.

2011 BL/SC Super Bowl PoolI

It's gonna be close, but ...

Steelers 27
Cheeseheads 24

My brother in law, who is from Green Bay, moved here last summer. He is now a Steelers fan.

One of my main clients, who is from Massachusetts, is rooting for GB just because he doesn't want Ben to have as many Super Bowl wins as Tom Brady.

Pittsburgh-a drinking town with a football problem! The only bad thing after we win is that some idiots will go out and riot in the streets, break windows, burn couches, etc.

I came within 12 seconds of winning $2000 back in Super Bowl XVIII. I had Raiders 4, Redskins 3 and all the Redskins had to do was run out the clock with the ball on their own 12 yard line....but of course they tried to pass and it was picked off and the Raiders ran it back for a 21 to 3 halftime score.

Never have been that close since even though I play the office pools every year.

Just eyeballin' the list, it looks like I might be a contender. Maybe? 🙂

Oh, that A Harris is dead on with total points! Good job!

Nah, I don't give a flip either, Dave. No offense to you football guys, of course, but I just could never get into NFL. College, I like the Ducks & Beavers. I do like to watch the halftime show, though!! They usually have a good musical person/band playing. :music:

> Packers 3
> Steelers 2

See now if you would of just added the 1 and the 5 to your scores, you would of been right on!! 😉

Results So Far....

Ok Guys, here is the preliminary I have come up with.
Feel free to check my work and if you find I am wrong, let me know. 🙂

FINAL SCORE:

Green Bay Packers = 31
Pittsburgh Steelers = 25

Combined Total = 56

The two guys that had their scores also = 56 are:

A Harris (within 7 of the actual winning teams score)
(GBP-38)
(PBS-18)

Nate (within 6 of the actual winning teams score)
(GBP-25)
(PBS-31)

Good job you two!!!

We also had two guys guess the winning teams score exactly right!
Joe 51 and RAGOODWIN both correctly guessed Green Bay Packers with a 31 winning score.

Good job you two, too!!!

So...from what I have so far, it looks as if Nate is our big winner. If everyone is OK with this or anyone has a problem with this feel free to reply.

Also, being that I like to give out smaller prizes, I feel that the other three guys deserve a little something for their guesses. A Harris deserves something because he has the total right on the money. As for Joe51 an RAGOODWIN, It's hard to nail the winning teams score right on and the fact that they guessed Green Bays score EXACTLY as it wound up being is pretty damn cool and is also deserving of a little "goodie"!! :good:

I'll get back with all of you later to announce the confirmation. 🙂

Thanks again for participating and be on the lookout for our next upcoming contest. We may surprise you... 😉

~Angel
