From the CT Surveyors WEB site

STOLEN EQUIPMENT

Brand new Topcon QS (Quick Series) Robotic Station with legs stolen from a job site Chase Street, Bridgeport near the Boston Avenue (Rte 1) intersection April 5, 2012. It was purchased from Superior Instrument, Serial number: P10401.

Heck, it's only a couple of miles to go back to the office and get another one.:-(

Hate to see this happen.....I used to work in Bridgeport, and there were a few places that.....well, they weren't very nice.

Keep an eye on Craigslist, FeebaY, Pawn shops, etc... That's usually where these thieves try to hawk hot instruments and such. :totalstation:

I wish mine had this feature when it was stolen

TSshield™

The TSshield™ system provides notifications for software updates with messages directly on the total station when avaialble. TSshield™ is able to track the total station and provide its location if it is misplaced or stolen. The owner can even send a code to lock the instrument so that it can not be operated

T-Shield doesn't work yet. It is an idea their selling everyone that they hope will work down the road.
