It's been years since I was last here and many things have changed
I no longer recognize the names ... that is, except for Wendell
I retired in 2013, because of an injury and the prospect of not working for a good while(like a year+).
Now, I'm itching to do something and trying to work out a possible prospect in phoyogrammetry(I didn't correct this just to show my typing skills have abated me, my fingers seem to shift on the keyboard) ... photogrammetry.
Hope to see more familiar names as time goes by ... quicklier(does it matter that "quicklier", is not a word?
I don't know how old you are or what effort you want to put in but is seems that drones and the data processing might be something that fits your interests.
I have enjoyed my part time gig working from home doing deed research and plotting as well as data adjustments and some boundary computations. I miss some of the hands on work with technology and equipment but that is definitely overshadowed with the flexibility of my schedule now. I see myself as a overeducated rough framer. LOL
I remember asking you if it was Buh-wayne-uh or Buh-yoona a long time ago.
I see we joined this crew in the same year. Your handle rings a bell, I’ve been retired since 2012. And glad I did.

That is the direction I'm looking to take. I believe if someone has a grounding in the principals of photogrammetry, that this is could be a fun and rewarding direction to take. That and the demand seems to be increasing across the board from just collecting imagery to 3D modeling and surfaces. I think it dove tails well with my GPS post processing skills and the tools have evolved to where much of it is automated. I've been beating myself up for years with the whole 'army of one' surveying model and I think it's about time I turn the tables and have a little fun while at it. That and I landed in the perfect place to do it. It's become more obvious the closer I get to retirement age, the importance of staying engaged and mentally challenged. 'Mentally challenged'... somehow that didn't come out right. 'Stimulated' sounds so much better.
Retired,
Welcome back! I wish you good fortune on your quest. I would add one more service to your list.
Data extraction is where most users are falling down. I see this getting pushed to entry-level techs all the time and it's horrifying.
Best of luck, Tom..
