Hey guys, My name is Tom Adams.?ÿ I used to come in to the forum A LOT, but haven't checked in, in quite a while (years?) except a couple of times.?ÿ Maybe I'll come in more often.?ÿ I'm sure some of the old-timers remember me.?ÿ Anyway, for those who know me, I'm retiring as of the end of this month (Aug. 2019) after turning 65 (on Saturday).?ÿ I just wanted some of my old friends to know. I used to love coming in and was actually addicted to checking in a lot, and I slowly started to lose interest.?ÿ For a while I posted "Cryptoquotes" based on some of the more interesting things said on this forum, and a number of guys would post when they got it.?ÿ Later, everyone lost interest and I quit when no one (but Dan Dan the Survey Man) would respond.?ÿ?ÿ
Well, maybe I'll see you more often, and maybe not.
Can anyone help me with changing my avatar, or tell me where to go to ask the admins??ÿ It's asking me for a URL.?ÿ Do I have to upload it to somewhere else and provide a link??ÿ
Congratulations on the retirement.?ÿ From what I remember, the work force is losing some good talent there, because I usually agreed with your comments or found them very sensible.?ÿ
I always enjoyed your posts, although I was one of the slackers who didn't always work the cryptoquotes.
I see in your history 2 posts 6 months ago, 6 posts a year or so ago, and a lot 2 years back.

Save an image that you like from the web to your desktop, or find one on the web, highlight and copy the URL
On my profile page under Account I see three options for Avatar.?ÿ Default supplied by the site, URL which means the picture has to exist somewhere on the web, and Upload, which opens a file browse window on my hard disk.
?ÿ
Retirement, that is something that will probably be forced upon me as my list of work keeps growing every day.
Good luck ??¯?ÿ
Look around the top of the page and hover over My Profile and click on Edit Account Settings.
There you will have the options to change your avatar by default, choose URL or upload one.........
Have you lost your bearings?
🙂

You lucky bloke.
You lucky lucky bloke...
Congratulations! ?ÿI always enjoyed your posts and comments. ?ÿEnjoy retirement and next phase of life. ?ÿJp
From Colorado, right?
?ÿ
Just a kid. ?ÿI hit 65 last August.
Hope you really enjoy retirement. I think it should be fun. As for my retirement, that will occur when they throw what they don't take out of me in the kiln to be vaporized into ashes. I'll be 69 in Sept. with no plans to retire at all, unless SWMBO will give in to moving to Georgetown, Grand Cayman. ????ÿ
Oh you youngsters!... 😉
@flga-pls-2-2
65 tomorrow for me.
If I could, I would hang up my shingle and stick to local lot or boundary surveys.?ÿ I love that stuff.?ÿ My only issue is that I'm concerned I'm a poor businessman.?ÿ I might be willing to work for someone else, too, but I have worked enough at the government job I'm at now to get my maximum pension, so it's not worth it for me to stay here now that I get Medicare.
Hey, guys, can anyone tell me how to change my avatar, or where to go for help?
Repeating: On my profile page under Account I see three options for Avatar. Default supplied by the site, URL which means the picture has to exist somewhere on the web, and Upload, which opens a file browse window on my hard disk to find a picture file.
Thank you Mr. Harris.?ÿ I tried that but must have made a mistake.?ÿ I uploaded a picture, but it also wanted me to fill in a URL????ÿ I'll try again.
