One of the cooler things (imo) is you don't really need to level GPS rods anymore; the software can calculate where the tip is.

The accuracies that can be achieved with latest generation GNSS under adverse conditions still surprises me

And I would not have picked the resurgance of photogrammetry thanks to drones and digital imaging
