Hi All

My name is Michael Papenhagen and I am from Paarl in the Western Cape. Paarl is about 50km north of Cape Town between the mountains. In summer it gets very hot with temperatures easily reaching 45 degrees and in winter we have snow on the mountains.

I am both a Engineering Surveyor and Civil Engineer and have worked in Countries throughout Africa. At the moment I am in Botswana, but finishing off end of January and then I am starting on a Road's Project between Malmesbury and Mooresburg in the Western Cape.

I enjoy Surveying very much and have also developed my own Software, which is being used by Surveyors throughout Africa. For the last 3 years I have been using Drones to assist me in my Topographical Surveys. At least I don't have fly-aways anymore! ???œ?ÿ

Thats all folks.

Michael.

Nau Mai, Haere Mai

Welcome

Good to have another surveyor from where the sun is in the north - ie south of the Equator.

I'm in the South Island of New Zealand.

There's a few us Southerners here 🙂

Worked with a fella at the last company that moved to America from Nigeria.?ÿ It was fascinating to hear his stories.?ÿ During his schooling in surveying there, he spent most of his time traversing through the jungles.?ÿ He didn't like that much (I wouldn't either) so he came to America and got his masters in Hydrographic Surveying from the University of Mississippi.?ÿ Then he moved to the St. Louis area when hired by that company.?ÿ He's a wizard on the water.?ÿ?ÿ
