Hi I am a long time lurker from back in the beerleg days and have learnt quite a bit on these boards especially how my neighbours to the North do their surveying. Really great resource for Land Surveyors!

I've been in this field from the late 90s and have been licensed for 2 decades now. I'm currently in private practice in my own outfit but have spent a significant amount of time in the Public sector. The majority of my work portfolio is boundary/cadastral work but I love to read about the happenings in all corners of this illustrious profession.

Really looking forward to being a more active participant on the board once my schedule permits.

Welcome from St. John, US Virgin Islands.

Barbados is one of a few islands I have yet to visit.

@larry-best you are more than welcome to come over. I’ve never been to the Virgin Islands (BVI nor USVI) so I also need to do the same.

I am always interested in how surveying is practiced all over the world but especially in the region given our mixed and varied histories.

What kind of fish would I catch, if I visited, and was out of money for food?

Nate, I really don’t fish. Fish that feed on the reef (parrot fish, blue runners, barracuda and many others) carry ciguatera poison although people do eat them. Bonefishing for sport is popular but not for food. Deep water tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi are great I don’t think there is ciguatera poison in Barbados, it’s mostly here to Florida.
