I have a question about the early development of Minnesota.?ÿ You may or may not have any knowledge on this.?ÿ My question is based on my knowledge of the early development in Kansas.?ÿ Minnesota became a State in 1858 which is only three years ahead of Kansas in 1861.?ÿ Thus there may be similarities.?ÿ There was a major push in Congress at the time to get railroads to extend their lines.?ÿ Many sections of land were assigned to certain railroad companies to compensate them for their expenses to do this construction.?ÿ Naturally, land development followed closely along those new railroads.?ÿ The problem was that the Government gave away land in some cases that had already been claimed by the early settlers.?ÿ In this area a battle lasted for years in court between the Settlers League and the railroads.?ÿ Did anything similar to that also occur in Minnesota?
Welcome aboard!
Welcome Dustin, I worked for a company in Minnesota for most of 2020! I was working remotely from southern California but I made it out to the Twin Cities a few times over 2019/20. I liked MN (although I can't handle the cold, that's why I am where I am) and I was going to take the LS exam there until plans changed and I went back to a more traditional job here in California.?ÿ
I was impressed with the Minnesotan's grit; even down there in the "banana belt" it got cold enough to make me long for the days of 120 degrees working in the Mojave ?????ÿ
Thank you all for the warm welcome.?ÿ I have had a few questions that were asked and made me pause to want to clarify what I do and what I want from this community.
I have been with the Frontier Precision team since 2000 out of the Minneapolis office.?ÿ Frontier Precision offers Sales, Service, Support and Professional Services for the Geospatial industry applications in a 12 state geographic area.?ÿ I cover the southern part of Minnesota and the Minneapolis area for their Surveying, Laser Scanning and Imaging applications.?ÿ I like to keep up on the latest in software and industry trends to share this information with my customers and this community!
Poking around on the equipment for sale and WTB area, I found someone looking for a specific instrument we even had in our storage room and sent him some pictures yesterday.?ÿ Glad to help someone and get rid of something we didn't need or have an outlet for!
