Was a lurker for years and figured it was time I became legit.?ÿ?ÿ

Been working in the Geospatial field for 7 years this May. Spent the first 3 working as a GIS tech and crew member until I got promoted Party Chief. Been chained to desk for the better part 2 years now slinging out surveys and GIS projects. Hope to be Licensed in NC in a few years.?ÿ ?ÿ

Welcome to the forum.  I'm not sure how to take your comment about "slinging out surveys".  I am hopeful that you are saying that you have been very busy the past few years with little to no rest between on project and the next.

...my other interpretation involves a less than flattering image of a caviler attitude toward the standards, procedures and professionalism. I like to think that the vast majority of people in surveying that had that caviler attitude, has seen the light and changed their way of thinking.

Had some family in New Bern (since relocated). Lovely town. Too prone to flooding for me.

Back in the 1980s used to windsurf on the Sound near Nags Head.

For myself, I am not offended by what I consider to be an attempt to be friendly.

Spent most of a week in Raleigh in 1977.  Followed by a night in New Bern.  Then off to see the Atlantic for a little bit and get my feet wet.  Stopped in Wilmington to check out the old ship and watch the alligators begging for treats.  Then off via Charlotte to the far west side and into Tennessee.

In 2016, came in from the west and traveled to a town a bit east of Charlotte, then back out the same day.  Saw a distant cousin, but, at the time, neither of us knew we were distant cousins.  Picked up a fancy china cabinet that he had purchased at my grandparent's auction in 1964.

@kevin-hines

Just a poor word choice I suppose. I do take the proper care to follow all state and local guidelines when it comes to producing Maps.

@cosmolabe

I'm glad to hear you are churning out good, quality products instead of my second interpretation.  Please learn early in your career that the occasionally misplaced word or phrase can and will be interpreted in a way that you didn't intend, sometimes causing a firestorm.

Good luck. Please do not hesitate to ask questions on this forum. I think I can speak for the majority of people here when I say we are willing to help with your professional development. All that is asked in return is to adhere to the rules of the board and evaluate any suggestions with an open mind.
