Hello, dear surveyors and the like.
I am not a land surveyor, properly speaking.
I am an architect who is studying archaeology and, so, has very little experience in land surveying to this moment, but who has much interest in learning more and more about this lovely "field", be it because of my personal interest in the subject or because of how much it is needed in archaeological field research.
I have some experience now in making small area land surveys using a Topcon GM-50 series total station and an analog level.
I also have intermediate knowledge on how to use ArcMap and QGIS, besides somewhat advanced knowledge in AutoCAD and SketchUp, because of my background in architecture.
I am here because I am having some trouble with some total station software settings and some (apparently) systematic (possibly chaotic) errors from a recent survey in São Paulo state countryside (Brazil).
I'm afraid my today's knowledge on surveying won't be of much use to you all, but I hope to have some issues clarified here and to be able to help one day, as I improve.
It is also a great opportunity to improve my English stats.
Thank you so much, everybody !
