Greetings, I'm new this site. I found it by accident just yesterday..it's great.
I hope to be of assistance to any young surveyors or engineers or students of such study.

i know your area, i grew up fishing plum island. that long jetty to the portside leaving the merrimack. trolling for blues and drifting for stripers! great memories.

Welcome to the greatest website in the universe. We need lots of new blood around here 'cause some of us oldtimers are gettin' a little rank. Try not to let the blowhards who are envious of engineers wear you down. Some find acquiring one set of letters after their name to be too difficult so they take it out on those with two or more. Ignore their protests. :p:p
I've been at this game for decades and still learn new things every week here. Most of it is really helpful. So, jump in and start sharing as much as you take.
Say, do you use GPS? (kind of a joke, based on recent postings!) Welcome to the forum, and DONT answer that just yet! 🙂

Hey there HolyCow,
I like your style. Well, I wish I could admit to being young, but I not, middleaged....new to the site, yet not to life. Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, I have a big-ol' ignore button for those whom doubt that I'm a surveyor first and engineer secondly. Yes, I'm very excited to have found this site, since (we) surveyors have very interesting stories. I have a feeling my productivity will decline......
Cheers mate,
Mike

Thanks for the welcome Nate. And to answer you, no, I don't use GPS. But I do use birth control. Cheers mate. Mike
Howdy Mike
Glad you have joined the site
Whats birf contorl?
🙂 welcome anyway!
The only 100 percent effective birf contorl (to quote Nate who is ignorant of such things) is to keep your gun stored in a sterile environment. The problem comes along when your wife discovers who is the possessor of said sterile environment where your gun is stored frequently. That discovery could lead to a permanently sterile condition.

Texas has some wonderful music, and the easiest way to find it is to wander into the nearest place with a neon sign. You aren't always guaranteed good music, but you won't often be disappointed.
Nate, it's spelt bearth kintroel.

Welcome, you will have lot's-o-fun here~!

Well....that's the engineer in you. You need to add a bunch of letters to simple words, to make them sound extra-technical and complicated.
Apologies and welcome aboard.
