You should keep your bosses (the licensed guy) phone very active. I get to spend a lot of time in the field with my helper but when I cant be there I encourage my helper to call me. These calls are a pain in the neck at times but they are also a way of learning for him. Sometimes I will get 10 calls a day from him, I use to call my boss 20 times a day and if I could not call and ask the LS in charge questions I would be looking for a better situation. That's not good for you or them.
