Has anymore worked out how to send private messages with this new format? Looks like you have to 'connect' before you can message someone now, but no idea if the 'connect' works though?
I have connected with some here and we can send pvt messages.
I sent a connect request you should get it at some point and accept or reject. Once connected then a PM can be sent to each other.
If you have someone you want to connect with just click the name and it comes to the profile and an option to connect is available. That sends the connection request to them.
@lukenz Yes, you have to request a connection with someone and they have to accept your request. Then you can send PMs to one another. This helps prevent spamming.
Thanks @OleManRiver for that. If you hadn't mentioned it in this thread I would have never found the request as only place I could eventually locate was under the notification bell which I ignore like in all other social media, something about not being able to control them/finding them distracting. I had expected something would pop out in my member screen or the email prompts like used to get related to PM's.
Thanks @Wendell also for response. Makes sense about spam in the age we are in. I had hoped to be able to contact a couple of members about posts they had made a year back but are not as active posting since the change over. I had sent connect requests so guess they aren't interested, missed the notification or are no longer active here which is a loss as great contributors.
