Well, maybe curved lines have run their course?

PLSS always is a good topic!

Who could ever get tired of talking about curved lines?:-)
You got my point ,Keith, something's missing.
And it's certainly not the folks that claim they never turned on P&R anyway.
It's not just P&R, it's the interesting thinkers that were attracted to other topics as well.
I miss them, even the banned ones.

Definitely not, my friend!
But there are a lot of things that are much less interesting that get a lot of airtime here.
Ah well, we are a dull bunch, aren't we?
No matter how much we struggle not to be.

The interest 'factor'

here on the board ebbs and flows. Sometimes there's good topics, sometimes not.

The way I see it, half of us are at deer camp...the other half are reading, watchin' the tube, or wishing we were at deer camp...I'm finishing up 75 exhibits and legals for a power line project.

Soooo...quiet's probably a good thing. We're all happy and there's a good bed of coals in the stove.|-)

It's called ---THE WEEKEND

From about end of business Friday til about mid-morning Monday things tend to get pretty stale around this joint. Too many other attractive options. Lots of desk jockeys tune in on week days. Others are more likely to check in as opportunities allow. No future in bringing up really worthwhile survey-related topics on the weekend as the number of potential responders is far lower. Save the good stuff for PRIMETIME.

yes, keith. i bought the new plss book for my test prep. Being from Maryland, it's new material to me. some of the instructions make sense, and some are difficult to digest.

So, you've been signed on here for less than 2 months and now are bitchin about it being boring here? Have you ever been tested for ADDHD? 😀
Hmmm, interesting to note that since September 29, 2012, your sign on date, that P&R has been shut down for most of that time? Perhaps we know you better by another name?? :-O
Might be a good idea to get used to it, because it does not look real good for that stuff to come back. A lot of people would have to learn how to behave before Wendell and Angel are ready to put up with the stupidity again.
You reap what you sow. No need to whine. The folks that loved to "shine" on P&R did it to themselves and they can only blame themselves. 😛

My suggestion would be to post something that is interesting.

"My suggestion would be to post something that is interesting.""

A challenge that I may not be up to, but here, try this:

TURN SIGNALS

I'm old enough to have driven cars that required you to stick your arm out the window to let other drivers know your intention, at least in terms of direction:-) I still signal almost every turn I make if there is anyone, anywhere, in the immediate vicinity who could possibly have the slightest interest whatsoever in the direction I intend to travel.

This, apparently, is a forgotten courtesy from what I've observed.

Many of you are young, I realize, and have not been properly schooled, in driving or in land surveying, and don't understand the old ways.

How many of you actually use turn signals anymore?

That almost felt like old times:-)

Thanks, Perry

Well I do and seems like common courtesy is a thing of the past.

I've only owned one motorcyle that was new enough to have turn signals...hand signals are a way of life with me.

PS - One of my bikes now has a rear brake light that has a mind of its own (Lucas), although I signal for braking quite often I'm gonna have to get it fixed...my arthritic left shoulder hurts every time I drive it.:bored:

Right Turn Clyde

I feel your pain on that....I'm 26 and it burns me up when non-drivers don't signal. I do EVERY time even if there is no one else on the road.

Here's another one, Perry

that may be interesting.

I think anyway.

Remember The Spy Who Came in fro the Cold?
Was it LaCarre's first novel? I think so.

Anyway, the spy, who has been covert  in an assumed life for so long, begins to wonder who he really is. Is he the spy or is he the person who's living that life that he's assumed, and what, really, is the difference?

Causes one to wonder who we are, who are you, who am I?

Don't really know yet, but we will:-P

Several years ago I was stopped because my turn signals were not working, of course I was on my way to get mini fuses for the rear lights in my Tacoma.

I had been using hand signals for the few turns on the way there and that was what the State Trooper noticed because I was in the correct turning lanes that had directional arrows.

According to him, I was still in violation of state law by having non functioning standard required equipment on my vehicle. It was something he brought up and did not give me a ticket only a verbal warning.

The minor violation gave him permission to stop me and check me for insurance coverage (financial responsibility) and to inspect me for any visual impairment (DUI), look into my vehicle for any visible evidence for any other reason to find an actual reason to levy a fine on me.

That is the facts of the road around here that as they keep a sharp eye out on all the locals while not being present on the local Federal highways keeping track of the real violators.

They claim it is not good for tourism when they are seen stopping too man vehicles on those roads and it is not good PR for the local towns when nationwide news reports big busts happening there.

They claim to have safe corridors for those operations.

The comment about being tired of being cut off and tailgated because I am driving the speed limit thru town was not met with any good emotions. Rather, it was followed by "You still have to drive safely and go with the flow of traffic to avoid problems".

rant off

:'(
