I'm liking the new layout, just wandering around a bit.
A few questions for Wendell...
Is there a "back to the top" kind of button for when you find yourself at the bottom of a long thread and don't want to restart the whole site?
Is there an option to "minimize" the personal info that is tagged on every post? It seems like there is a lot of space/info repeated that distracts from the content. Again, will be something different to get used to, I'm sure, if there isn't.
It looks like "beer leg.com" is no longer active... Is that right? I guess I always used that URL instead of "surveyor connect" but I can see that it makes more sense to just use the more "professional" moniker.
Great work, I know it will make your lives much easier moving forward. I appreciate all you two do for the surveying community.
Andy
I am sure glad that I am on the beach all week. This is good timing.

Andy, the "home" button will take you to the top of the thread.

I don't see the home button. But I am currently on my iPhone in landscape view. I will keep looking.
I think he meant on the keyboard... But it would be nice to have that on the mobile setup.

There is a quick navigation button that looks like will work well. I am starting to have fun here at W& A's new house!

Always happy to help buddy. 🙂
On iOS don't you just tap at the top of the glass? That's what I do.
Use the RECENT POSTS button near the top left to get a list of recent posts in all categories.
The best part is the speed is very fast, the old forum was slow and boggy.
How do you change your password to something that you can remember? I am currently logged in with the computer-generated alphabet soup, and I have zero chance of remembering that stuff.
What's the deal with the clock? As I read down the list of categories I see the time or date of the most recent post. Some of those are in the future. Paul D made a comment to me about four and a half hours into the future from right now.

Click on your name at the top of the screen next to inbox and then click on password.

Cliff, click on your name at the top and then on the left side, there is a bar named password. Click that to reset.
A suggestion if possible.
The recent posts tab brings up a list of the most recent posts in reverse order. OK, that is good, however the forum I have utilizes a 'unread posts SINCE LAST VISIT'. That makes it very easy to see the content you missed since last being here. Just scan the topics that are in the list, to trying to remember the last time you were here, and say, OK, I was here last night at 9pm, so I have already seen that stuff. I find myself scanning down the list, and clicking on stuff that I have already read everything of.

Go to your personal preferences. The first thing there is your time zone. Mine was initially set to somewhere in eastern Africa. Seems our profile preferences didn't propagate over during the upgrade.

or I can also just use my brower's "back" button.

Or I click the FORUMS button. That works well for me.

The recent posts feature does indeed show the most recent posts and would look the same to everyone. However, you can click the New Posts button (in the Forum submenu near the top) to see posts that are new to you since your last visit.
Thanks for the query about the time, I would have never noticed that mine was set for London, far away from NE Texas.
gives me jet lag just thinking about it...
