This was also posted under the Client Rant thread.
Noticed a few items of interest in the posts by agrimensor.
From a post February 13, 2013, 02:38 in the Client Rant thread.
"oh i am licensed, 1 year out of college."
Then from the same post and only a few lines later.
"this is the most incredible boundary survey procedure I have heard in my 30 years of surveying."
However, from a post February 13, 2013, 03:30 in the State of Surveying thread we have the following.
"when i started out in 1990s, right out of college all I know how to do were these types of surveys using a theodolite & tape." Well 2013 - 1990 = 23 years maximum out of college and of surveying.
So if this individual has difficulty with these simple numbers it makes me wonder. I also notice that his initial statement Tuesday, February 12, 2013, 17:03 was in conflict with itself (deed vs evidence) within one or two sentences. Initially thought it was a simple typographic error. However, reading more of the posts it appears intentional.
Or did TDD slip in the back door to have a bit of fun?
🙂
I'll give him a chance to explain himself before I hit the ban button.
LOL -- I just found some of his abusive posts and banned him. So nevermind, not going to give him a chance to explain afterall.
🙂
Looks like some of my responses got deleted along with some of the troll's posts. Not sure if that's incidental to his deletes or if mine were deleted because I tossed in some retaliatory (but clean) abuse among my attempts to inform him.
I guess that's the risk when you engage the trolls.
The name-calling is what got your posts deleted. I understand he is/was a troll, but name-calling is still a rule breaker.
So which was it? Was he from the Philippines or Qatar? 😀

IP address states:
Country: Philippines

I didn't participate in the discussion, BUT, I can't seem to feel like agrimanser is a troll any more than Richard Schaut was, or Kent Mc at times. Schaut didn't have a problem calling names, and Kent has some fine understated insults at times, too...
The argument went both ways. maybe a little arrogance from the Philippines, but we've had our share, too..
Working in a state that uses the Torrens system for about 30% of our land I can see both sides. Having gone through the CFedS course I really do understand both sides, and I will remain uninvolved in the discussion 🙂
just my 0.04' worth...
Don
Thanks for all you do! Especially the troll wrangling.:good:
You made me look
I just read through that long thread.
Just my 2¢:
I was amazed that a guy from a different country would come in slamming everything about surveying in the US, breaking down to name-calling. (I assume I missed the real harsh namecalling, but I don't know).
As to "I am licensed, one year out of college" implies to me that he is saying that he got his license one year out of college, whether that was a year ago, or 23 years ago. Whether he had another 7 years of surveying before that, might be questionable.
(haha....Maybe we need to make the dates he started and today's date (the monuments) match the total number of years he is claiming (the area). You know, apply the philippines'-torrens system to the 30 years of surveying.)
I think that Mr. Agrimensor, would have done much better and been much more well-received if he did kind of a dissertation (or something) on how surveying works in the philippines vs. the US. Attacking a surveyor for incompetence, that is from a different country is downright silly.
Oh well, I certainly trust Wendell to take care of such craziness.
Thanks Wendell
(ps. still chuckling over JBS's "erotica" (erratic?) Maybe a spell-check auto-correct?

Agreed! That is why the initial post in this thread was a question. While I'm unsure of Agrimensor's background or intent this is Wendell's forum and I wanted to make him aware of the content being posted.
It is very common in that part of the world to speak from the hip and to not sugar coat anything.
Not knowing what nationality that was posting, most everyone has noticed that the English language suffers in many ways as used by most people from Asia.
I've had to stop and think real hard about what was ask at times. It is a good thing I am not usually embarrassed. They have ask me some rather personal and off the subject matter questions.
I've replied with "haha, you funny man" many times.
B-)
