I don't seem to be able to change my avatar. The only change was that my old one got distorted. Looks like the same thing happened to Keith. The new one says it was successfully downloaded and I did save my profile, but no change other than the distortion. Any suggestions?

It's your browser cache. Just hit F5. If that doesn't work, hit CTRL+F5. 🙂

It's an apple thing. your Ipad obviously senses that you're not cool enough yet. I suggest a few piercings, tats, and maybe dyeing half your hair purple.... then you'll be artsey enough to properly run apple devices.....;-)

Thanks Wendell, I don't think I could have handled the piercings;-)

Rankin: I'm so uncool, I'm actually using a PC right now.

Don

But why is Keith distorted?

He probably changed his too, so you may need to refresh your browser on a page with his avatar in it as well.

I see a picture of you with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background for your avatar. Perhaps you need to try pressing F5 or CTRL+F5 per Wendells post above. I tried it and realized that while my browser had automatically updated your avatar, it had missed Don's new look.

Keith, Your avatar was the old blurry one. I hit CTL-F5 and up popped the new one w/ the bridge in the background

I forgot that you've gone to the dark side. 😉 I'm not a imac user but a web search says that CMD + R will force a browser refresh, which will force it to download the full webpage rather than relying on images stored in its cache.

Hey Stephen

Thanks a bunch......it worked.

Yes, I am now a iMAC user. I had to have an iPAD and my wife got a iPHONE, so we considered ourselves MAC users and each then got iMACS. Love em all.

For any MAC users, use Stephen's recommendation.

Hey Stephen

By the way, Tennessee is a beautiful State. I remember it well, back in 1974 driving through there on the way to Virginia.

Dave

fun to walk that bridge.

I walked it with my sister in 1987 at the 50th anniversary celebration when they closed it to traffic. They thought they would close it for an hour and let a few people walk it (really early in the morning) but 100s of thousands showed up. The bridge sagged in the middle. The bridge district had their engineers quickly calculate the loads and they fortunately found the bridge could handle it. Wall to wall people weigh more per square foot than trucks.

I think they should close it all day for the 75th and let the pedestrians have the bridge for a day. That would also make the crowds a little less packed.

We walked out on it for 1320 chains or so and took lots of pictures.

Some view!
