Has anybody had any experience with THIS mount?

I am trying to get my rig set up for about a 2 month long project and I haven't bought it yet as I have not experience with it. Does anybody use something different. It will be going on a Kioti UTV.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't have any experience with that mount, but, I have my own welded assembly that works well. My hindsight tells me that I really underestimated the amount of shock anything on one of these rigs takes and I would now incorporate some very thick and strong rubber into my system if I were to re-design. That design looks like it will bounce around to the point you will place your hand on it out of concern lots of the time. My 2c

Ask Jimmy Cleveland

He has that exact one. I'm sure he'll be glad to tell you his opinion of it.

I have used one since before SECO bought it out from Russworks. I got my first one from Mr Russ. The down side to it is, they don't sell individual parts, or didn't last time I checked. They only sell the mount, pole, and upper assembly as three units. In other words, if you loose or wear out the rubber brackets that hold the pole, you have to buy the whole assembly for a couple hundred dollars or so for a part that should cost a few bucks.

They have changed the design up slightly. Personally, I like the original one designed by Mr Russ best. I hope they have changed the parts availability. I like the unit, but don't look forward to spending a few hundred dollars when I need a part that costs a few dollars.

Other than that, I like it, but it's the only one I've used, so nothing to compare it to. I use mine on a Yamaha Rhino side by side.

Chris is correct, I have that mount on my Bulldog UTV. I do like it. My UTV rides pretty rough, so the rod takes a lot of vibration. My gps receiver or 360 prism vibrates loose pretty easily.

It does not work well in the woods, but overall, I do like it, and am glad I purchased it. I am going to fabricate a mount so I can use the rod holder on my ATV as well.

Thanks for the all of the responses. Vibration is/was still a major concern, but overall I think it safer in the open with a mount than holding it in your lap....Not really going through the woods with it anyway...again thanks.
