I use RTX quite a bit, receiving the corrections via geosynchronous communications satellite.?ÿ
But, there is another delivery medium...over the internet (i.e. cell, wifi, etc). I figured the IP address would be hard wired in to the receiver. But, when I try to configure this, it wants a GNSS connection (Settings...connections...GNSS contacts).?ÿ
Is there an IP address or URL? Or does this have to be through a VRS provider (which wouldn't make any sense...)??ÿ
Asked my dealer, they thought it might be a separate subscription. I figured that it might work better than via SV since there is more bandwidth. In the US "fast init" area the bandwidth over SV is 2400 baud, I think it might be 600 baud in other areas like South America
I think it's hard-coded in there, there's a checkbox for "Use RTX over internet" in the GNSS contacts Corrections tab. Turn that on and there's another dropdown to select what part of the world you're in.
Never used it before but remember seeing it a while back.
@rover83 Not intuitive, but I managed to configure it for RTX over IP. Definitely not RTX Fast. I thought it might work a little faster/more accurate since the bandwidth would be greater, but not the case. Waited several minutes, did not converge. Switched back to satellite delivered RTX and converged quickly.
