Just starting using a trimble r8-3 with tsc2 with access. Trying to hook up with VRS (have no problem with 5800 and tsc2 with survey controller).
It connects to VRS but keeps showing on the tsc2, "waiting for L2 sv's". I remember a previous post a few years back about an r6 having the same problem. There was only one reply and it was that there might be a cell tower or something interfering with the l2 signal....anybody have a clue why this is coming up and not initializing? Thanks, Ron....
"Waiting for L2 sv's at Rover" is the exact wording, just won't initialize....

It seems to me I remember a thread on here a while back about an issue something like this having to do with the L5 signal and maybe a firmware update. I can't find the thread right now so I can't be sure it was the same thing.

There's a post in the thread I was thinking of.
I might have to do a hard reboot.....
Thanks Bob
"Still waiting for L2 svs at rover"......anybody got a clue why this is going on...tried on two tsc2's, one with access, the other with survey controller 12.50...connects to reciever and radio light blinks, but won't initialize....
Have you verified you are receiving info? On the controller there should be a rotating globe or moving pipeline. If you click that it'll bring up another window and you'll want to look at bytes transferres. It should transfer 300-700 bytes per second, in fairly consistent fashion.
If this is the case, I would then go into the survey styles and under rover options verify you are using the VRS protocol. There may be two depending on your version of software.
Check that your corrections are appropriate for the port you've selected in your server settings. If they are, I'd try a different method. Maybe single base CMR+ to try to get a connection.
If all this is gibberish, or the settings are correct, message me. Goodluck!

The globe is spinning with a green checkmark next to it......data bytes transferred started out at 16,000 +/- and right now is showing 50,076 and climbing....??????
Okay, finally got intilization with vrs network.....one more question....when I hit the measure button, the satelites in view go from 16 down to 7....is this due to the network or to glonass, etc.....thanks, Ron...
Thank you....I had emailed them yesterday but no response yet, will call them tomorrow.....
