Can files be offloaded using the TRU? or is that just for configuring? I finally got it to connect by using a USB adapter on my computer. I just can't seem to find a way to access the static files.

When you run it, do you have the screen in the attached image? You should be able to use the "File Explorer" icon to access the files in the receiver.
Pull down - Device
Connect
Select the connection method and Device Name
Click "Connect"
Once connected, you should be able to use the file explorer icon to access the files.
