I was post processing GNSS data from a flight and using a Leica CORS as my base station when I noticed that the Leica SiteLog and the NGS version showed a different antenna. Leica confirmed it had been changed BUT the NGS SiteLog had NOT been updated. I had my answer almost immediately and the NGS SiteLog was updated within a couple hours. In addition Leica had a bug in their SiteLog generation database that had the install date for the antenna dynamic as it updated to the current date every time you downloaded it, got a programmer to fix that the same day too.

Big shout out for having a support team that listens and fixes problems in a timely manner, it is no small task to keep all the antennas and data current in a large network but they do a good job.

In fairness to more local networks the ORGN (Oregon) and WSRN (Washington) are also responsive, I was just pleasantly surprised that a much bigger network (650 CORS and growing) responded in a very timely fashion too.

On a side note, Leica has been bringing a lot of new CORS on line, it would appear maybe to support precision ag and machine control, quite a bit of overlap with existing networks here in the PNW, anything that is useful as another resource is appreciated.

It depends if you want single state, regional, nationwide, etc. and for how long.

I only subscribe when I feel the cost is worth it, a single state/region is currently $2400/year which would likely be what most users who don't travel much would buy.

It is free to get an account to access the RINEX files for post processing is what I actually use more than the RTN subscription.

You must be getting a deal somehow, that isn't the current pricing listed on the SmartNet portal website.

beatsa me- may have to do with one or a couple of things. first being that the network here is and has been pretty darn robust for a long time now- the cost of building it may be gone. other thing being that the trimble network here is even thicker, and the cost is structured a little bit differently, but it's essentially a wash between the two. when i started up i priced trimble v. leica all the way down to network cost, as i woulda been happy with either. for antenna, robot, collectors, network in a true apple vs. apples comparison, the costs were within a couple hundred bucks of each other. and i know the trimble network is fine, and a couple former employees now are reps for the company that sells and maintains the gear and network. too bad they weren't better at getting their quotes back to me, or i'd probably be using trimble gear and network right now. leica guy (kent's high school buddy and another friend of mine) won me over with his immediate attentiveness.
