does anybody know if this comes with a screen protector or do i need to buy a screen protector for initial use?
i'm getting one but the salesman is coming from out of town and i don't want to ask him because he'll just stick one on and say yes (i'm a pessimist). i want a screen protector before anything touches the screen.
I just got mine last week, looking forward to getting to use it. It does come with the kind of film over the screen that's often affixed to electronics - a little bubbly and cloudy, but it's totally usable until you order some proper screen protectors. It'll offer enough protection for the time being.

hay thanks EdWidy. i'll tell them that i want this plastic to still be on it. i'm getting a demo gps and the dc is to be new. i'm anal about my screens being scratch free - or at least as scratch free as i can keep it.
also keep my fingers clean'ish. i know guys that work for other companies that think it's funny to 'sandblast' off the numbers on the buttons. i like to keep my equipment button labels readable.
I've had two and they both had screen protectors attached when supplied.
Mine still has the one that it came with on. Be it the one that it came with is not actually supposed to be permanent. It is grey and bubbly. I did pony up additional money for a pack of two (2) of the real deal.
They come with them. They are also the same as the ones for the new Leica LS10/15 Digital Levels.
When the CS20 first came out a few year ago it did not come with a screen protector. The ones sold today do come with one already on it. You can still buy extra if you want.
