July issue of XY HT has a interesting article about HAS GSNN technology for GIS applications.  Anyone have any experience using it in the field?

I believe @gisjoel has mentioned either himself or coworkers testing it out.

It's definitely something that I would like to play around with.

The only issue that I see with it (and other point positioning methods like RTX) is that there are no observations stored, only points. No post-processing available, what you store is what you get and that's it. For certain applications it will work great; others not so much.

It's a great option where you have no RTK or cell coverage in my experience. About 10 minutes for convergence time in a clear area. After that, it holds well as you move about. I've been seeing about 10 cm precision at best. But regularly under 30 cm (1 ft).

I have yet to test performance under serious canopy, but I'm hopeful. Being broadcast from all Galileo satellites is going to help a ton compared to other SBAS services. It'll be a game changer in the GIS industry in disconnected environments.

Next year when they reach "phase 2", convergence time should come down to around 3 minutes.
