I have no personal experience with this condition, but don't expect any significant impairment. Smoke should be electromagnetically inert.

Good question!

I have no idea. I suppose that IF the particulates in the smoke have an electrical charge, then MAYBE, but whether or not the effect is non-trivial is far beyond my mush filled melon.

Edit...Bill knows his stuff, so I will go back to watching the ball game...

I do know that the smoke is very noticeable here in SW Wyoming.

????

The California wildfires have been getting decidedly worse in recent years.?ÿ In late 2018 it was bad enough that I had to wear an N95 mask in the field for a week or two.?ÿ I found myself checking a website showing air quality monitoring sites before leaving the office every day to see what I was in for, and noticed PurpleAir sensors scattered around town.?ÿ I looked into it and decided to buy one.?ÿ But by the time it arrived the air had cleared.?ÿ We had a lot of remodel construction going on at the time, so it just sat on a shelf until a few days ago when I put it up.?ÿ It's live now and can be found here.

I no longer remember what website I was monitoring in 2018, but it showed both EPA sensors and the PurpleAir sensors.

I wore an N95 all afternoon today, in 95?øF weather and positively ghastly air quality.?ÿ They're really not much fun to have on, especially if you're doing hard labor like I was (digging for monuments in parched ground).?ÿ Tomorrow promises to be about the same.?ÿ 🙁
