Carlson GPS

Have had two of the units for over a year (see avatar). Absolutely love them. Coming from Topcon Hiper lite+, the performance difference is absolutely stunning. I love the hot swap batteries and that when you buy them you get everything. GPS, Glonass, Static, OPUS, RTN, etc. No pay to play to unlock schemes like other mfgs (TOPCON!!!). Works absolutely flawlessly with SurvCE as you would expect. Starting the base and connecting to the rover takes literally two minutes. Maybe. Each and every time without fail. Before, using Survey Pro and the Hipers, it was always hit or miss if everything would connect and bond and receive and transmit and not lock up and on and on.

The only negative I could say is that they "feel" perhaps a bit fragile. Again, based on the Hipers I'm used to which are fully metal housed BRICKS, the all plastic and rubber housing of the BRx5 just feels a bit dainty. My perception only. No failures of any sort to support that feeling.
