I am selling a data collector.I purchased it without any software installed. I then sent it off for software and it has xyz Fieldworks installed which is the original program for this data collector.

When I bought it, it did not have any cables or batteries. So the battery is brand new and I have some used (but barely used) cables with it. I did not include a total station cable because of so many different types out there.

It has a touch screen. Forgot to mention that.

There is a small mark about the size of the end of the tip of a stylus in the upper left hand corner.

It also has a internet adapter with it (in pic with '54' on it and cd behind it). I have not used it but bought it new to go with the data collector.

You can see additional information at xyz fieldbook top right DC sells for $2195

I would keep this item however when I bid on this I also bid on a couple other data collectors and I ended up with one with eagle point software (SMI 2008), which I am used to running.

I am hoping to get about $1,000 (that is about what I have in it) or more for it but will am willing to look at any offer.

I have it on ebay and starting bid is $650.00 and buy it now at $1,800.

I won't use this data collector I am not familiar at all with the program. So give me a price and I'll consider it.

I am also giving 10% of the sale to a charity. I was going to go with angel tree but if the winner just wants to keep the 10% and put it to their favorite charity would be fine.

John, I can't help you with getting rid of that unit but would just like to comment on SMI. Obviously you are a diehard SMI user like me. I've tried several other DC's and different DC software over the years but always went back to the simplicity and power of SMI. In my mind, there is still nothing that can beat it for what the everyday surveyor needs. I'm currently running SMI Version 8 on a Recon and love it! My 'backup' DC is an Allegro also running Version 8 but I like the smaller, easier to handle Recon. I've looked at and tried my buddies XYZworks. It's a good program but I will stick with SMI as long as I can - too bad its no longer available or supported. 🙁

Good Luck.

The guy who writes xyz works is the same fellow who wrote the hp COGO calculator programs in the 1970's, 1980's.

He also used to be part owner of Maptech back in the late 80's and early 90's. They had a great program for the office and I used to run it in a MC-II and MC-V data collector.

Back in the good ole days.

SMI v8

Hi
I bought an Allegro CE with SMI v8 to use as a backup. I like the way SMI feels but have not done much with this DC since I had no way of downloading the data. Is there free software that will download data from SMI v8 on an allegro to a PC?

There is free software for downloading the SDR33s and TDS on Ranger and HP48s, but I have not seen any for the SMI allegro. Admittedly I havent searched too hard as I am using another DC at present.
Be grateful if someone can point me as to where to look.
