I have a CTS 2B that works fine, except that the display is messed up (see photo). Can't find the LCD circuit board anywhere so far (ebay, dealers, etc.) Unit was built around 1993 I think.

Looking for ideas on where to buy a replacement board, or find someone with one of these or similar units that are now paperweights, but that the display might still be good.

I guess you can't just take it into the shop for repair?

Been trying. Can't just repair it. No one has parts for an instrument this old. I removed the circuit board and tried to cross reference the LCD board within, but they're not available either. Unless someone can suggest a dealer in some other part of the country (I've tried north east, midwest) that might have old instruments around, I'm not sure what other avenues are open to me.

Maybe just connect a data collector to it, and not worry about the LCD?

That's an interesting idea. Don't have one (yet), but if I have to spend a bunch of money for the LCD, I might as well put it into a data collector instead.
