Two almost exact same listings, one in Finland, other in Florida. The one getting bids looks fishy to me. ZERO feedback!! Hope nobody gets screwed!

This is the one in Florida: 281487661422

I've bought a couple of used items from overseas, but nothing expensive. In general, I don't trust overseas sellers with anything pricey unless I have some independent means of verifying their reputation.

The Finland item smells fishy to me, but frankly either one of them could be bogus. I note that both auctions have the "ebay Money Back Guarantee" logo, but I don't think things like this are covered by it. (The guarantee description is dismayingly vague.)

It is very common for Ebay sellers to use the same pictures from other listings. They never seem to fade away and reoccur frequently from stock sources.

What stands out to me is that the description of the item from Finland does not correctly describe the item. It calls the 530R a 3 second gun when it is a 30 series instrument that will read to either 5 seconds or 1 second with a 5 second expected accuracy.

There are many of these on Ebay and some of them are from what I know to be reliable sources.

They are a very nice gun, compact in size and can produce great repeatable results.

Every instrument I have came from another surveyor thru Ebay.

😉

Topcon 313

I would contact the seller and ask for their phone number. I found my first instrument on Ebay. A pristine topcon 313 that really looked too good to be true. So I got in contact with the seller and he was a surveyor in Utah. I asked a lot of questions. Finally he got pissed and told me he doesn't sell crap and that if I want I knew where to get it. I bought and it is the best instrument I have, even compared to the new robot. But you are right to proceed with caution.

I would avoid any international purchase, there is no guarantee and return. It will not provide a tracking number that work with Paypal. At the end, seller will win any case you throw at him. I have been selling on Ebay for many years, I only ship to Canada & United States and all other countries are all in high risk! Custom broker might be corrupt, open the package and steal your item or buyer have other intention than buying it for their own use.

About this item, I reported to Ebay because they are stealing pictures from another listing. Why is so hard for this seller to take a picture and upload it. Unless they don't own the good, this is the only reason that make any sense!
