Hello,

I am looking to buy a plane table and alidade. I am looking to actually use it, not collect it as an antique, so it does not have to be pretty, just in working order and not crazy expensive.

Does anyone have one? Or perhaps you have some advice regarding a dealer or other service I could contact to help me find one?

Thanks very much!
CVG

I have a K&E Self-indexing Expedition Alidade that is almost brand new that I bought for a job in 1975 and have never used it since. It and the tripod are still in the original shipping boxes. Also, I have a 15' Metalite Stadia board and two plane table boards, one is the small board, 18"x24" and the other is 24"x36". I think that is the board dimensions. I wouldn't say that these are cheapies though. I do have some pictures if you are interested.

Hello,

I am very interested in seeing some pictures and hearing prices. I am an archaeologist and we like to go old school for mapping certain kinds of sites.

Thank you very much for your reply,
Cynthia

You might check with a seismograph company. They used to use them on a regular basis. RE: Petty Ray Geophysical, etc.

I was just interested to find out if this instrument has been sold yet. I keep finding places overseas selling plane tables but it's impossible to get a quote from them and I'd rather help a peer out by purchasing their used instrument.
