It finally crashed after 12 years in the field. What's the going rate for a used one? Does anyone have a TDS Cogo Card for sale? I have a HP 50 and I really don't like it... I would sell or trade the HP 50, it has the D'zign transportation pac.
I know you can get attached to the 48's. I always liked them too, but if you go with a new data collector I think you'll be impressed. There's some pretty good stuff out there these days. There is the cost issue, but some of them are not all that expensive.
You cuould probably find a used 48 on Ebay, but buying one is taking a chance. It's likely a used one will have button issues, among other things. The card and data ports could also be damaged.
Just my opinion.
I don't use it for data collection. I am using the TSC2 on our S6's and S8. I agree, buying one used is a risk. Going to send it to fixthatcalculator.com but I just want a back up. Thanks for the input.
our 48 quit working about a year ago and the boss bought a used recon. everybody kept telling me how much better it was. but i hated it with a passion. then a few months ago i was doing some cleaning up in the office on a rain day and found a brand new 48gx still in the box and have been using it ever since. good luck in your search. i feel your pain.
I have a TDS COGO GX/SX v4.1 CARD, overlay, memory card, instruction manual & a 48 that has been to FixThatCalc for a tuneup that I never use.

If that is real, that is the only app that I've ever seen, that made me want to go get it. I cut my teeth both on calculations and data collection with the 48. I put mine up in the home closet a few years ago. It will be the one possession I have that hopefully in 40 years I can brag about the equipment I started on.
