does anybody have any suggestions on where to get flagging and pinflags? i find a lot online but the shipping costs break the deal. i'd like to find some for less than $1.25/roll when i buy like 48 rolls... and $7 per 100 when i get 1000 flags - shipping included.

I think the pin flags are around $7 per 100 count at your local Lowes or Home Depot. At least, they're pretty close to that around here. As far as the flagging, is there a local distributer that can make you a good deal?

I buy all mine from forestry suppliers. I buy it in bulk as in full pallet quantities. I don't know the exact prices but they are cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. The shipping on a pallet is usually a couple bills but I get tens of thousands of flags at once. It is not like they go bad. We go through a lot of them so we stock up. Same thing with paint.

A local survey equipment dealer is probably your best bet. Avoiding the shipping is a big help.
