I have been letting an archaeological department of a local state college use my Topcon GTS313, Hp48gx with FC48 software (TDS) in an enviro-box and soft pack, tripod, tribrach with single tilting prism and soft pack, 12’ Seco rod, bipod, standard single prism and soft pack this summer for their field school. It’s basically a complete setup.
Now they are asking me if I would be willing to sell it and of course I am as I haven’t used this equipment on a regular basis since upgrading to a robot and GPS. It is all in real good, clean condition and the total station checked good at the baseline prior to them taking it for the summer.
What would you guys value something like this at? I may sell it to them or donate it and use it as a write off this year. I’m weighing my options and any input from you would be appreciated.

Unless there is real need for the money, the equipment is in good shape, I would keep it. Much more expensive to to replace, if needed, than keeping it on the shelf. Get a temporary overload and you have the equipment for another crew.
