Well, I forgot I was getting older. I have not been a fan of the Javad Mono-pole. The main reason is that I don't make a good "Human Bipod". I'm too wiggly.
Anyway, I had one more corner to set. It was across the river:

And, then, it was another 180' into the river bottoms. Privit, and general brush piles, and debris.
So, I set the Javad LS on the monopole. Then, put some fast dry swim shorts on. Grabbed a rebar, hammer, and stuck a cap, and roll of flagging into the mini pocket. At the last second, I also put a collapsible saw on the mini belt. (This saved the trip).
Grabbed the LS, and started wading the river. (where I waded was just upstream of the pic above).
Well, my feet are NOT as tough as they used to be, and I'm barefoot! When they would HURT BAD, I'd fall. And, I'd GYRATE to keep the LS out of the water. This happened MANY times.
Once I got across the river, the PRIVIT and debris was so thick, that some of it I crawled OVER and some of it UNDER. It took some 15 mins to make it 180'. Then, I found a privit bush over where the corner fell. Out came the saw. 10 min of sawing, and finally found the ground.... Set the corner, and found a little better path to the river. Then, I shot the bank about 5-6 times, to locate it. My client was there by now, with a small canoe. Got a ride across, (about in the middle of the above pic).
My daughter picked about 20 thorns out of my feet.
I made it home. I am SORE from all the gyrations.
But, that Mono pole let me get there. It would have been near impossible to drag the standard bipod and pole through that stuff.
I have to make another trip out there... so I'll get a few more pics.
But, I'm sore...

They grow up in multiple shoots in among everything else like weeds on steroids. I think they were planted as hedges along the fence in the 1950s. Then when the previous owner put in the rose bushes he didn't remove them correctly plus he flood irrigated encouraging all the volunteers and suckers.

WOW! For those mature bushed you'd need a backhoe and chain. The Extractigator works on 2 inch trunks or less.

In 1974 TG the Iman sent Joe the Rodman across Black Cypress Bayou.
Joe called back good and TG looked to take a shot and began cussing and said I hope I don't go blind, Joe is naked.
Joe laughed for days ever time he was round TG and he would cuss at Joe some more.
Them two old dudes kept getting each other's goat over something on a regular basis.

There are people around here that dig up yaupon that grows wild just about anywhere and take it to the cities to sell as privet bush. I don't know if there is actually a difference or if one is more desirable than the other. In rural areas, they are a nuisance.

I really "need" a Gibbs Quadski. Anybody want to set up a "GoFundMe" so I can have one? 🙂 (Grin!)
Seriously, I think I will try a Kawasaki KLR, to survey off of. Really do prefer a motorcycle to ATV... for general riding.

OK, James, have you seen an LS?
Here's my offer. I'll SWAP you even. You buy me a decent used KLR, (around $3000-3500) off Craigslist, and I'll come, and SHOW you my LS, and train you for 2 days. You will have to buy my vittals, and give me a spot on the floor to sleep. (I don't like beds very well, unless they are VERY hard).
It'll be alot of fun, you will see what I see. And, I will get me a bike!
You'll have to PICK one of the LS team, for support, if you decide to buy one. But I can kick you off.
Let's see... hey this could be fun! 🙂

Now, Robert, I came in, and in pain asked for help. She did a good job. Maybe 8 thorns in one, and 12 in the other.
It's hard to pull your own thorns.
Say, I'll demo an LS for a KLR for you too! (I'll find my own lodging though!) 🙂

I'll notify you for a demo when you are able to walk on water with it. That would have come in handy for your initial post.
We'll met in Butte LaRose. I give you a coordinate list to obtain a reliable elevations for mapping and then maybe stake out a few waterfront lots.

The Triumph-LS actually already comes with a nice pair of tweezers.

They were intended to be used for removing and installing the microSD and SIM cards but I'm sure they would work great for removing thorns too!
