I'm taking the NCEES PS exam on friday. Was wondering if anyone who took it recently could comment on how many economics questions were on there?
I have the NCEES practice exam and was feeling pretty good about myself after taking it. It had little math, no economics, and I generally didn't think it was very difficult.
Recently a friend of mine let me borrow PPI's practice exam by G Cole and it had me using my calculator a lot more with more obscure questions including at least a half dozen economics questions.
Since I haven't looked at any economics questions in 4 years (FS exam), I'd like to know how much cramming I need to devote on the subject. Thank you!
Jim, if you look at the PS exam specifications categories and the approximate number of points listed for each category, you can pretty much estimate how many questions would pertain to what you asked. These are found on NCEES.org, Exams, PS Exam page.
For example, category IV Business and Professional Practice states approximately 20 questions divided among 7 knowledge areas. Means you could expect about 3 questions per knowledge area.
Good luck and hope you do well
I took it last fall. Remember the compound interestate formula. You will need it!
I am also taking the exam Friday. Just review the formulas and understand the formulas in the reference manual.
I looked over this to explain the formulas.
