My fiance is a high school teacher and is looking for a legal description for Smoky Mountain National Park for an agriculture class. I would assume it is in a few tracts and probably some Native American treaties. Who would I contact for surveys as well?

The park was formed in 1934 by acquiring ownership of previously private lands, probably many hundreds of tracts. I suggest you check the Registry of Deeds for the areas the park is in. There will be taking documents and possibly plans recorded. You could also contact the National Park Service and National Archives and see what they have on record.

These may help, but not complete and exhaustive. There's a rich history of legislation in the formation of this park. One requirement was that all land encompassed would be donated.
