We arrived around 4pm and most everyone had already arrived (we got stuck behind a huge pile up on I-5). We had so much fun, we didn't leave until at least 11pm. Had a snack, dinner, dessert and drinks. Time flies when you are having fun with good people.
Clockwise, from left: Mary (Daryl's SWMBO), Kathy & Grant Brady (our visitors from PA), Noodles (texting, as usual), Joe Ferg, Jered McGrath, Daryl Moistner and Dona.
I'm pretty sure everyone had fun, but it's hard to imagine anyone having more fun than me. It was a blast! Wish you could have been there.

We had a wonderful time!!! Everyone is awesome!!! :good:
And...I was not texting. I was bringing up the puppy pics so Joe could show Dona. So neener. 😛
You folks just have too much fun....:)
Sounds like y'all had a good time. I would like to meet up with some of the other Beerleggers in the southeast sometime. Maybe one day, we could have the official National Beerleggers Convention.
Grant and Kathy are wonderful and down to earth people, just like most sureveyors and postmasters should be. It was a pleasure to meet them both.
More puppy pictures to follow.
Joe
Ps: Thanks Wendell and Angel, this site has really brought people together.
The AZ APLS Conference is right around the corner. May 19-21st in Tempe.
A Southwestern get together may be required...

We're speaking on Friday there and hoping to setup at least one event. Got any suggestions for a brewpub (or something similar) within walking distance of the conference?
Northwest Surveyors Rock!!!
Kathy & I had a great time 🙂 🙂 at the mini Beerleg gathering. A very rainy day in the Portland area turned to sunshine inside the pub. We learned more about the PLS system, the BLM, and life of surveyors in the Northwest.
Thanks, Wendell and Angel for setting up the event.
All the surveyors we met (including Doug Casement AKA Radar in Seattle) are an inspiration to the surveying profession.
Everyone had great suggestions for our travels in the area; we will have to return another time to see them all.

I agree wholeheartedly!! We stayed until 11 PM; had dessert and just BSed with them for hours. I wish they were here longer; we'd take them all over Oregon and show them Crater Lake, the Lava Beds, etc... 🙂 We truly have great surveyors here on this site. I am so looking forward to meeting so many more of you guys!!
Joe, we're thinking of next Friday for that thing we discussed. I know Wendell wants to plan on it. Plus I want to see the puppies!! :dog: If that works for you, let me know and we'll see ya Friday. 😀
Tucson & Phoenix Beerleggers

Don't forget Tucson. We'll be there, first!!! Anyone want to meet up with us and do a little get together while we're in town? I'll be there May 10th. Wendell will be there from May 14th (late flight though) to the 18th. We'll have "goodies" with us!! 🙂 Bruce Small, I'd like to meet up with you that week if possible. Any fellow rat lover is a friend of mine!! :good:
Phoenix Beerleggers and anyone going to the AZ APLS, same thing. We'll also have "goodies" to give away. 😉
Thanks for the kind comments and the Ferguson Land Surveying cap, Joe. I wish we had time to learn more of NW surveying.
Grant
The feeling is mutual. My favorite part about these get-togethers is hearing the stories of other surveyors and their experiences. Grant told some stories about surveying in (and out) of a mine that were intriguing, mainly because I'd never heard of the techniques they used to get control down inside the mine. Not to mention how they got themselves and their equipment down there. Thanks, Grant, for the great stories and the great pictures of the antique instruments!
It was a pleasure to meet you and your wife and I hope we can cross paths once again in the near future. If there were only one reason for this web site, last night was a perfect example of that reason.
Here's one more picture, I opted not to post it originally due to the glare from outside. BTW, anyone know what that shiny, yellow orb in the sky is? Been trying to figure that out off and on for the last couple of weeks.
Kinda hard to tell, but in the foreground you can see my Nook Color, rooted, hacked and manipulated into becoming a full tablet so I can moderate on the go. 😉
Our hosts for mini Beerlegger.
Beer Leg Summit
You all remember the Beer Summit?
I’m still lobbying for a Beer Leg Summit to be held in conjunction with the Survey Summit in San Diego in July – the Summit at the Summit.
It’s the right thing to do.
Beer Leg Summit
Rich, we're definitely thinking about it. Just depends on finances after this next conference coming up in May. We definitely want to do a "Summit at the Summit", but we have to make sure we have the budget for it. 🙂
Well dang!!! Where is Sig??
Thanks Grant! It was great meeting you and Cathy too! Wish we could've spent some more time. Oh well maybe next time, or better yet, I might make it out to PA!
It's always great meeting other surveyors from all over. I suggest that anyone who has a chance to meet some one from this board( or the other one too ), that they don't pass it up.
Cheers,
Radar
> Well dang!!! Where is Sig??
Back in Seattle. Season is over for this year according to Daryl. 🙂
Who/what is Sig and what are/is they/it doing in Seattle?

Sig is the captain of the Northwestern. Crab boat filmed on Deadliest Catch. He must live in Seattle during the off season.
