anyone else getting massive SPAM?
I have tried deleting my old account but it appears there is no way to get out of their system.
Yes, they desperately want us back. Just add the email to your spam filter, I doubt you will see anything from them again.
Yup.

I did that long ago, but the mail server is getting pounded real bad, the "fix" that actually works blocks the entire domain.
Not a lot of messages here - one message on the email address I originally signed up with, same message on the one I used for the revised site.

It appears it is many copies of the same message sent to all of my domains with madeup user names... maybe the BNP SPAM machine will run out of ideas and stop soon.
I have received a total of two so far. Deleted both without reading.
Me too!!!
Today they hit my other personal email accounts. How the hell did they even know I had those email addresses?? I went to the thing where it says "unsubscribe" and checked the little "other" bubble and they wanted a reason so I said "Horrible business practices!!"
Still scratching my head as to how they found out those email addresses... 😐
I just got another this morning. That makes at least 4 in the last few days. It is getting real close to the definition of spam. I think I will attempt to unsubscribe. If that don't work, they are headed for the blacklist.
When they scambled the RPLS forum, I went back a coupla times and verified no more interest, particularly because this forum picked up the ball and ran away with it. THANK YOU WENDLE!! This site has taken over the legacy of Mark Deal. POB abandoned their rights to that history.
You are off the radar of POB if you are not buying equipment for 5 full time crews. That is not 10% of the surveying operations in the US. They have focused upon the many other industries that use the equipment as that is a much bigger market, and they are right. That is what their main clients, the equipment manufacturers who buy their advertising, want. So be it. Such is the world that we helped make.

Don
I get too many requests to renew my subscription to the FREE information.
Actually, they have my information from at least two different sources, so I have always received two magazines and usually get two emails of the same thing.
Have tried to correct that and it will stop for a short while and then start all over again.
I was still getting pounded all night long so I just requested my "fix" that actually blocks the entire domain has just been implemented... not my preference but I do need full resources, but I have not used any of the remaining POB resources for quite some time.
I've gotten one email from them but it's a e-news that I have allowed. I did get the renew your subscription, which I did.
Maybe it's a settings issue or a "Multi subscriber being one person" issue.
Sucks they can't fix it for ya.
I received several third-party advertisements via email yesterday that gave some sort of reference to POB. All of them were added to my spam list. Fact is, they were sent to an email address that I've never given to POB.
For the record, and as our Terms of Use specifically states, we will NEVER sell or give away your personal information without your consent.

you are both believed and trusted, never an issue with you.
BTW: for the record I did try to cope with the BNP transition, but when I got a bulk mailing from them offering to sell me their data base I said WTF! and walked away. PS: the first thing I did was contact Christie (of the old POB) and ask how to delete myself, she said "we don't do that"... but perhaps that response was from someone else using an online persona.
Legally, they are required to remove you from their lists when you request it. I'm sure you are probably aware of this already, but I just wanted to make that statement for those who may not.
New info. I went to the website to unsubscribe. I saw that it had all their authorizations to send various emails to me checked as on. I know for a fact the only one I check on was the digital magazine. Somehow, they think they can reset them to on as they will on their own with no contact or notice if they want to. I did unsubscribe and moments later got an automated email that it was done. We will see if that pans out.
"For the record, and as our Terms of Use specifically states, we will NEVER sell or give away your personal information without your consent."
For the record, that is exactly what they did. I was getting emails from their advertisers stating POB suthorizations. The only thing I authorized was the digital magazine.
Just too much influence in getting a nickle for each of every email in their list I suspect. Fraud, deceipt in the interest of greed. That's mankind since day one.
