Paden,
We almost never send anyone without a license to run field work. Our licenses compliment each other and we make a great team. I will have to get pretty dang hungry to do it any other way...

Three references notarized to take the SIT?? That seems like a bit much.

yes it does, kinda like the cart before the horse.
SIT does not entitle you to do anything, not out here anyway.
Are additional references required for the PLS exam?

No, To take the PLS Exam you can have just one that you have been working under during your time as an SIT sign off. Which in my mind seems odd. Why would you need three for the SIT and one for the PLS?
Thanks for the feedback.
I ended up going the phone call and letter route.
I just finalized my application. I feel like I should post it to thwart the requirement skepticism! It's no joke. It took a lot of work and feedback from peers to complete.
Now I just have to hope the board approves me and study.

One trick I did with my first license-
Save all of your application answers as a text file. You can usually copy and paste to fill in others. I'm still using a text file I started in 1999...
